FIGHT NIGHTS AT THE COSMOPOLITAN returns with the 12-round IBF Super Lightweight elimination bout between Victor Cayo and Lamont Peterson. Cayo, the 26-year-old Dominican Republic native started boxing at the age of 11 and has had over 300 amateur fights. Six-year pro Peterson is regularly featured on ESPN and HBO boxing telecasts, along with his brother, lightweight contender Anthony Peterson. While he found mainstream success with the critically-acclaimed and platinum-selling group, his solo career was just as successful – recording three albums. He recently released “Ben Folds Presents: University A Cappella!,” a collection of his songs performed by college groups; and “Lonely Avenue,” his latest album in collaboration with novelist Nick Hornby.

Alternative rock band THE FLAMING LIPS play The Boulevard Pool, Cosmopolitan Las Vegas. Formed in 1983, the group’s first brush with fame didn’t happen until 11 years later, when the quirky tune, “She Don’t Use Jelly” broke into the mainstream a year after the release of the album “Transmissions From the Satellite Heart.” Their unique sound makes them “the world’s most predictably unpredictable band.”
CAKE, one of pop-alternative rock’s best-selling artists, plays The Boulevard Pool at Cosmopolitan. Billed by Rolling Stone magazine as creators of “a modern pop that is both mechanized and organic… highly developed and virtually unique,” the group’s latest album, “Showroom of Compassion,” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 in January of this year.
Performing at Cosmopolitan Las Vegas’ Book & Stage are LADY DOTTIE AND THE DIAMONDS. The Alabama-bred fireball sings everywhere from the kitchen to the pulpit. Show dates are March 27, 10-11 p.m. and March 29, 12-1 a.m. Free and open to the public.
Pittsburgh-based mash-up artist Greg Gillis, aka GIRL TALK, brings his wildly inventive productions – slicing and dicing and stitching together bits of oldies, chart hits, indie-rock favorites and hip-hop jams – together with his wilder live performances to The Strip.
