TIFFANY’S HAS A LOCK ON JEWELRY

Women don’t really need an excuse to buy (or better yet, receive) jewelry but just in case you need to justify your purchase – there’s always Valentine’s Day, or a change in season as a reason. Introducing TIFFANY LOCKS, based on detailed pendants and charms, with options such as vintage, heart, half circle and round shapes in 18 karat yellow and rose gold or sterling silver. Prices range from $100 to $5,500. If price is no object, a 14.31-carat, cushion-cut pink tourmaline in a diamond and platinum ring setting goes for $18,000. A word of caution about the locks – some of them function as actual locks – so make sure that you’re not left with the lock, with someone else holding the key, or vice versa.

Tiffany & Co., at Crystals, CityCenter (702-545-9090); The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace (702-644-3065)
or Via Bellagio (702-697-5400).

VEGAS FIRES-UP FOR THE NEW YEAR!

A perfect example of learning from past mistakes – “America’s Party Fireworks,” otherwise known as “The Strip Fireworks” is back; and by back, we mean this is the second year it’s to be fired from rooftop locations – as it was done from time immemorial – we’ve all but forgotten about 2008’s fiasco. At any rate, this year – the show will be fired from seven Strip-rooftop locations – MGM Grand, ARIA, Planet Hollywood, Caesars Palace, Treasure Island (TI), The Venetian and the Stratosphere. Also, like every year, take note that The Strip “closes” to car traffic from sundown to early morning of January 1, so make sure that you get there early, or it’ll be quite a walk.
