up in early January next year is the “Fab Five” Art
Exhibition which will feature more than 500 fabulous works of art
by the very best of 20th Century Modern Masters – Pablo Picasso,
Marc Chagall, Alexander Calder, Joan Miro and Salvador Dali. A brief
backgrounder on this exhibit – the acquisition of more than
500 spectacular works of art took nearly four years. This collection,
without question, would be the most ambitious undertaking any gallery
has ever attempted. This is a can’t miss event as there may
never be another “Fab Five” show of this quality again
– which is unparalleled in range, uniqueness and aesthetic
beauty. The “Fab Five” Exhibition runs through March
1, 2009.

On
our cover is “Lucky Las Vegas,” by Steve Kaufman. From
his first art show at age eight, Steve Kaufman has covered, painted
and lived through it all – from the Olympics, to friendships
with Warhol and Sinatra, to his work with ex-gang kids and the homeless.
From
his humble beginnings in 1972, working for Macy’s, painting
dog and cat faces on pet rocks, here are just some highlights of
his colorful career: 1989-1990 – opens Art Studio and hires
New York City homeless. Portraits are shown in 46 cities on bus
billboards, helping raise $4.72 million to benefit the homeless;
1993-1994 – Art Studio moves to Los Angeles. Hires more than
100 Los Angeles ex-gang kids from prison to assist him in the studio.
After suffering from two strokes in 2000 and 2003, he’s working
harder than ever – such as continuing to support more than
170 charities each year, as well as a rigorous exhibition schedule
in major cities such as New York, Washington, D.C., Vail, beaver
Creek, Aspen, Denver, Maui, Toronto and Las Vegas, plus Europe.
