PARTY WITH KITT!

A very select few (not counting die-hard Knight Rider fans) know of or remember the “Vegas connection” from the original series, where “Michael Knight,” the character played by David Hasselhoff, was an undercover Las Vegas police detective. Perhaps it’s only fitting, then, that Las Vegas is home to the Knight Rider Festival, as it was home to the original 1982 and 2008 pilot of the TV show.

When the show debuted in 1982, it became all the rage. I’m “dating” myself by admitting this, but I used to religiously watch the show every week. It’s a testament to the show’s popularity that there are still millions of fans, to this day, as well as spinoffs and sequels being developed – the latest one being the 2008 version of the original TV show, called Knight Rider: The Series.

The two-day event (March 20-21) will be jam-packed with celebrities, events, drawings, giveaways, plus of course, cars on display. Also on offer will be the very special 2009 Knight Rider Festival Highlights DVD, which will be made available for purchase.

The best part of it? The event is free and open to the public and it’s for a good cause. To quote David Hasselhoff, “One man can make a difference… One person can make a difference, You can make a difference in someone’s life and you can make that difference in your own life… This is what Knight Rider is all about.”

Here are but some of the names and faces that you will get a chance to meet during the festival.
